Aliyu Ibrahim, a close associate of the 29-year-old Nigerian left-back, said that Zaidu wants to stay at Porto but everything will depend on what his club can offer him in terms of a new contract, that the extension of Zaidu Sanusi’s contract could nevertheless be decisive, that the Portuguese management has reportedly begun discussions with his representatives to reach an agreement, and that the club wants to avoid losing him without a transfer fee. Sanusi has 32 caps for Nigeria and a current Transfermarkt market value of €3.00M. He has been linked with clubs including Leeds United, Al Quadisiya, and Atalanta. In August 2026, reports stated FC Porto was asking for a €10 million transfer fee, while in May 2026, it was reported that Porto would be open to an offer of around €7 million.
