Yannick Carrasco Transfer from Al Shabab to Atlético Madrid

Spanish media reported that Yannick Carrasco was close to a return to Atletico Madrid. Carrasco's mother, Carmen, stated in Het Nieuwsblad that there has been contact between Carrasco and Atletico Madrid and that a transfer is still possible. She said that she cannot say too much about it, also with an eye to the future, but that there has been contact. She continued that there is still a difference between talking and putting something on paper, and that the latter has never happened.

Yannick Carrasco was linked to a return to Atletico Madrid and various media reported throughout the summer that the 32-year-old winger wanted to return to Europe. His name was also mentioned at Besiktas in early September, but no transfer materialized as neither club pushed through. In an interview with Marca, Carrasco commented on the rumors, saying that of everything that is said, there is always a part that is true and a part that is not. He also stated that he is still happy in Saudi Arabia, but does not close the door to a transfer. Carrasco said that he is there today, but in football you never know where you will be tomorrow. He added that Europe is Europe, mentioning the Champions League and the national team, and that it will be seen what happens in the next transfer windows or when his contract there expires.

Yannick Carrasco did not rule out the possibility of returning to Atletico Madrid. He said that Atletico has given him a lot and he has also given a lot to the club over many matches. Carrasco stated that he has Atletico in his heart, follows every game and how they play, and considers himself one more of their supporters. He added that if a club that is in your heart calls you, one always has to be open to returning home.

Yannick Carrasco was rumored to be close to returning to Atlético de Madrid according to the Spanish press. However, Atlético de Madrid has firmly denied any interest in Yannick Carrasco, stating that neither Yannick nor his agent contacted them to offer his services. The club emphasized that their recruitment list for the summer is finalized, focusing on younger players aged 23 to 24, with only one exception being 27 years old. Hence, integrating Carrasco would not align with their strategy.

Belgian winger Yannick Carrasco, 31, has been rumored to return to Europe this summer after playing in Saudi Arabia for Al-Shabab. Transferwatcher Matteo Moretto revealed on DAZN that Carrasco has been offered to Atletico Madrid, which is seeking to strengthen its flanks. If the transfer happens, it would be Carrasco's third stint at Atletico. However, Carrasco is not the primary target for Atletico, as they have prioritized Nico Gonzalez from Juventus. The player's contract at Al-Shabab runs until 2027, and his market value is estimated by Transfermarkt to be €7.00m.
