Wout Weghorst Transfer from Ajax to Beşiktaş
According to Turkish journalist Serkan Morova, Wout Weghorst has informed the Ajax management of his desire to leave the club next summer. He wants to return to Besiktas, where he played between July 2022 and January 2023. The Turkish media Aspor reports that Weghorst is considered the main candidate to replace the Italian striker Ciro Immobile, who is expected to depart from Besiktas.
Besiktas is giving 'priority' to signing Wout Weghorst, who is currently playing his first season at Ajax and is under contract until mid-2026. Weghorst previously played for Besiktas on loan during the first half of the 2022/2023 season. Besiktas is seeking a replacement for Ciro Immobile, who is expected to leave the club. Discussions have reportedly taken place with Weghorst, and financially, he could benefit from the move to Besiktas. He was a fan favorite at Besiktas, scoring nine goals in eighteen matches during his previous stint.
Beşiktaş is interested in signing Wout Weghorst, and negotiations have been initiated. His agent, Mithat Halis, confirmed discussions with Beşiktaş and highlighted Weghorst's potential return to Turkey. The agent mentioned that previous negotiations with Milan did not materialize and Weghorst is open to joining any team in Turkey if Ajax agrees to the transfer.
Weghorst, currently playing for Ajax, previously had a short loan spell at Beşiktaş and now reportedly wishes to return. His interest in rejoining Beşiktaş has been communicated through his agent to Beşiktaş's president, Serdal Adalı. His contract with Ajax expires on June 30, 2026, and Beşiktaş may start working on this transfer. Weghorst, a 32-year-old forward, had left Beşiktaş after attracting interest from Manchester United. Now, with his desire to don the Siyah-Beyazlı jersey again, this move could materialize as Beşiktaş plans for the next season.
