Talks over a new Dundee United contract for Will Ferry had been put on hold. United had already offered Ferry new terms amid Celtic’s interest, and Capuano said that they will continue to speak to Will and his representatives about a longer term contract, which has already been offered.

Jim Goodwin has confirmed that Dundee United has offered an improved deal to Will Ferry. The left-back is out-of-contract in the summer, and the Tannadice club wants to extend that arrangement. Goodwin stated that it is up to Will and his representatives to decide what to do with that.

Jim Goodwin is confident that a new contract offer may tempt 25-year-old Irish left-back Will Ferry to stay. Dundee United are offering Will Ferry a new contract. Goodwin stated that he hoped Ferry would be at the club longer term. Ferry, who joined the club in July 2024 and has one cap for Ireland, has attracted interest from several clubs including Celtic, Blackburn Rovers, and Anderlecht. In August 2026, reports claimed RSC Anderlecht were in advanced talks for a deal worth approximately €2.5 million, including bonuses. This followed reports in July 2026 that Dundee United had accepted a £1.8 million bid from Sigma Olomouc, which the player declined.
