Globo.com reports that Atlético-MG has officially announced the signing of Victor Hugo. The 21-year-old Brazilian defensive midfielder previously belonged to Flamengo and was on loan at Santos last season. The player has signed a five-season contract with Atlético-MG, which invested 2.5 million dollars (R$ 13.4 million) to acquire 50% of his economic rights. Victor Hugo arrived in Belo Horizonte last Sunday, where he underwent medical exams and completed documentation before signing his contract. This move reunites the player with coach Jorge Sampaoli, with whom he had previously worked at Flamengo. Victor Hugo is a Brazil U20 international and has two caps for the team. According to Transfermarkt, he has a current market value of €3.50m.
