Valentin Sulzbacher, a 21-year-old Austrian midfielder from FC Red Bull Salzburg, has transferred to Dutch top-tier club Excelsior. It was announced on Monday that Sulzbacher was given a three-year contract. The player progressed from Salzburg's own academy to the professional team, where he made eight competitive appearances, partly due to injury. Sporting director Marcus Mann stated that Sulzbacher had developed well from their youth system and had chosen to take a new step in his career. Mann also said the club was pleased for him and wished him the best. Sulzbacher has one cap for the Austria U21 national team. According to Transfermarkt, his current market value is €1.00m.
