AZ is considering Valdemar Byskov, a 21-year-old Danish central midfielder, as an alternative option, as negotiations for their primary target, Thom van Bergen of FC Groningen, have been difficult. It is reported that Van Bergen is interested in the move, but discussions with his club have been challenging, causing AZ to look at other candidates.
