According to Mundo Deportivo, Unai Hernández has been presented as a new player for Girona after returning on loan from Al-Ittihad. The loan agreement includes a purchase option that becomes mandatory if Girona is promoted to Primera División and Unai plays a certain number of minutes.

Girona have submitted a loan offer to Al-Ittihad for Unai Hernández, a 21-year-old Spanish central midfielder and former Barcelona youth prospect, who is currently experiencing a difficult period in Saudi Arabia. The Catalan club is looking to secure a return for the player to help aid their effort to gain promotion to the Spanish top flight. Hernández joined Al-Ittihad in January 2025 and has a contract that runs until June 30, 2028. He recently returned from a loan spell with Al-Shabab FC and has a current market value of €2.20m, according to Transfermarkt.
