For Manchester United, the most favorable outcome would be a loan departure that includes a mandatory purchase clause. Malacia was reportedly one of five players told by the club at the summer's outset that he was not in their plans. His current contract is due to end next summer, but United have the option for an extra year. Previously, Elche had expressed interest in the player during the Spanish transfer window, though a transfer did not come to fruition. According to Transfermarkt, the player's market valuation is €8.00m, and he was also connected with clubs like Roma and Beşiktaş during the summer.
