Portuguese right-back Tomás Tavares was announced as a new signing for Marítimo for the 2026/2027 season, having agreed to a three-year contract. The 25-year-old, who also holds Cape Verdean citizenship and is a product of the Benfica academy, stated via the club's media channels that he is very happy to be joining a club he considers to have a great history in Portugal.
