Tim Breithaupt is considered a top candidate by 1. FC Nürnberg to replace Caspar Jander, who is transferring to FC Southampton. It is not yet clear if this will be a loan or a permanent transfer. Breithaupt, currently with FC Augsburg, previously spent the latter half of last season on loan at 1. FC Kaiserslautern, where he made twelve appearances. Despite his experience, Breithaupt has found limited opportunities at Augsburg, not featuring in the squad for their first two competitive matches under coach Sandro Wagner.
