Bologna FC 1909 communicated the extension of the loan of 22-year-old Chilean-French goalkeeper Thomas Gillier to CF Montréal until December 31, 2026, with an option to extend until June 30, 2027. CF Montréal also announced the extension of the loan of Thomas Gillier from Bologna FC until December 2026, with an option for a further extension until June 2027. Luca Saputo, a Montreal executive, stated that they are very happy to extend the loan of Thomas Gillier, that since his arrival he has distinguished himself not only for his abilities on the field but also for the very positive attitude he brings to the team, that Thomas is deeply connected to their project and feels fully accomplished in Montréal, and that this extension allows them to benefit daily from his contribution while supporting him in his growth. In the 2025/2026 season, Gillier made 14 appearances in Major League Soccer. His contract with parent club Bologna expires on June 30, 2030, and his current Transfermarkt market value is €1.80m.
