Panathinaikos is considering signing Theocharis Tsingaras from Atromitos as part of a strategy to increase its number of core Greek players. The club is reportedly seeking two midfielders and would prefer one to be Greek. Tsingaras, a 25-year-old Super League player, is a significant candidate who has been considered by big teams since December. The player has one more year on his contract with Atromitos, and owner Giorgos Spanos will need to be financially satisfied for any transfer to proceed. It is thought his demands might not be excessive. A complication for any deal is that PAOK retained a resale percentage from the player's initial transfer to Atromitos, meaning Panathinaikos would need to compensate both clubs. The Greek international has one cap for his country and has made 24 appearances in the Super League 1 this season, with one goal and one assist. His market value is €900k, according to Transfermarkt, and German club Hannover 96 has also been linked with him.
