Everton are being linked with a move for Juventus defensive midfielder Teun Koopmeiners, and reports suggest that he could be available on loan in January. According to Italian outlet Gazzetta dello Sport, as cited by Sport Witness, Juventus’ management feel Koopmeiners is not fulfilling expectations and for this reason, they could explore his exit in January. The report claims that while Juventus' preference would be a sale for around €25million (£21.4m / $28.4m), they would be willing to loan him out if a sale proves impossible. Newcastle are also interested and reportedly wanted to sign Koopmeiners late in the summer window. However, TEAMtalk sources have contradicted suggestions that Newcastle are considering Koopmeiners.

Juventus are reportedly preparing an ambitious offer to sign Sandro Tonali from Newcastle United, which would see 27-year-old Dutch midfielder Teun Koopmeiners move to the English club along with a significant cash payment. According to Juve-Live, Juventus are ready to propose a deal involving Koopmeiners plus €50 million to test Newcastle's resolve. The Italian club considers Tonali a priority target, and Koopmeiners is seen as an expendable asset who could help secure a midfield upgrade, having been under increasing scrutiny since his move from Atalanta in 2024. However, the potential transfer may be complicated by reports that Tonali's personal preference for a return to Italy would be a move back to AC Milan rather than to Turin. Koopmeiners' contract with Juventus is valid until 2029, and his market value is estimated by Transfermarkt to be €30 million.
