Real Betis was one of several clubs to make inquiries for Argentinian forward Valentin Castellanos, 27, during the summer, along with Villarreal, Nottingham Forest, Everton, Burnley, West Ham, and Wolverhampton. A concrete and convincing offer from a European club of a similar or higher level to Lazio could reportedly sway the player. Lazio's manager, Maurizio Sarri, has never been fully convinced by the attacker and would not oppose a sale. According to Il Messaggero, Sarri would approve an exit for a fee of no less than €30-35 million. Castellanos is under contract with Lazio until 2028, and his market value is estimated by Transfermarkt to be €25.00m.
