Sydney van Hooijdonk is transferring from NAC Breda to Estrela Amadora, a move that was announced on Thursday morning. The 25-year-old Dutch striker is joining the club, which plays at the highest level in Portugal, on a free transfer. The move was arranged rapidly after NAC gave Van Hooijdonk permission last Tuesday to travel to Portugal to finalize the deal. He has signed a contract with Estrela until mid-2028. Technical director Peter Maas explained that when the player returned to NAC, goals were set that were only partially achieved by both parties. Maas added that the club appreciates Van Hooijdonk's commitment and wished him success. Van Hooijdonk has two caps for the Netherlands U21 team.
