Svetozar Marković Transfer from Viktoria Plzeň to Slovan Bratislava

Slovan Bratislava have signed their first winter reinforcement, 25-year-old Serbian and Bosnian-Herzegovinian central defender Svetozar Marković, from Plzeň on a four-and-a-half-year contract. The transfer fee is reportedly around 800,000 euros. Slovan had previously been interested in Marković during his time at Partizan Belgrade. The club's General Director, Ivan Kmotrík ml., revealed that they acquired the player after several previous attempts, having held negotiations with Partizan in the past and now with Viktoria Plzeň. He added that Marković is a player the club has monitored for a long time and knows well, noting his experience playing in difficult European matches for Plzeň in the autumn. Before his transfer, Marković made 11 appearances and provided one assist in the Chance Liga this season. The defender, who has 18 caps for the Serbia U21 team, had also been linked with PAOK. He previously transferred from Partizan to Viktoria Plzeň in August 2024 for a reported fee of €1.5 million, and his market value is estimated by Transfermarkt to be €3.5 million.
