According to ŠK Slovan Bratislava's general director, Ivan Kmotrík Jr., negotiations for Hugo Pavek from AS Trenčín were proceeding positively. Kmotrík confirmed Slovan had strong interest in him previously and was in communication with AS Trenčín general manager Rybníček at the beginning of the transfer window, getting close to the amount Trenčín had requested. Subsequently, they received a significantly different response and the negotiations were suspended. Kmotrík stated that at the moment, talks are suspended because the difference between their offer and Trenčín’s new demands is too large to reach an agreement. However, Slovan's interest for the future remains because they see significant potential in Hugo. Kmotrík stated that Pavek’s successful debut in the national team may have affected the negotiations, and that the price will now double. According to Kmotrík, the player's contract expires in a year, which means Trenčín’s position is not strong enough for them to insist on their requested transfer fee. Kmotrík expressed a belief that perhaps Trenčín will reconsider its stance during the transfer window. AS Trenčín's general manager, Róbert Rybníček, has confirmed that reigning Niké liga champion Slovan Bratislava is interested in 21-year-old Slovakian Hugo Pavek. Speaking on the ŠPORT.sk show 'Kam si to kopol?', Rybníček revealed that there is increased interest in the player and that other clubs are also beginning to show interest. He added that Trenčín will carefully consider the situation and intends to be patient, noting that Pavek has had some performance fluctuations. The player's contract is valid until the summer of 2027. His market value is estimated to be around €650,000, according to transfermarkt.de. Rybníček also clarified that while another of the club's full-backs, Nikolas Brandis, is attracting attention from different clubs, the interest from Slovan is specifically for Pavek. Pavek joined AS Trencin in July 2024 and has one cap for the Slovakia national team; in the 2025/2026 season, he made 26 league appearances, scoring one goal and providing two assists.
