Preston North End are one of several clubs linked with Svante Ingelsson, a 27-year-old Swedish midfielder for Sheffield Wednesday. Ingelsson was the subject of rejected offers from Portsmouth and Millwall in the January transfer window. During that period, Sheffield Wednesday reportedly rejected a bid from Millwall for a seven-figure sum, after also turning down an earlier offer of approximately £300,000 from the same club. An asking price of around £500,000 was widely reported. A few weeks ago, Preston, Stoke City, and West Brom were reportedly among the Championship clubs that had expressed admiration for the former Sweden U21 international. Portsmouth are also monitoring his situation. Sheffield Wednesday, despite being relegated to League One, are expected to offer Ingelsson a new contract to extend his current deal, which expires in June 2026.
