Benfica made an official approach that Groningen rejected. AZ had also previously been in talks for another Groningen player, Thom van Bergen, but failed to reach an agreement. Dagblad van het Noorden reports that Resink is now close to a move. The player has a six million euro clause in his contract for this summer, but the transfer fee is lower. The publication states that an amount of around four million euros is involved. FC Groningen has also secured an unspecified resale percentage in the deal. Resink joined Groningen in August 2024 and his contract runs until 2028. His current market value on Transfermarkt is €7.00m.
