L'Équipe reports that Le Mans have entered into talks with Augsburg centre-forward Steve Mounié. The 31-year-old previously played for Montpellier and then Stade Brestois between 2020 and 2024. Discussions are ongoing and the Beninese striker, who is under contract in Germany until 2027, is said to be in contact with the club from Sarthe. According to the publication's information, no offer is believed to have been made currently.

Kicker reports that Steve Mounié has no future at FC Augsburg, adding that he played little at Alanyaspor in Turkey and that there is likely to be a market for him in France.

Steve Mounié is considered an alternative for Köln. He is on the market and is being discussed as a loan candidate after Augsburg recalled Mergim Berisha from Hoffenheim. Mounié has had limited playtime this season with only 10 appearances and no goals.

Steve Mounié could leave FC Augsburg after just half a year. According to information from the French FT partner editorial team Foot Mercato, SCO Angers is interested in a loan for the 30-year-old.
