According to the Czech press, several European clubs are interested in Slavia Prague's 23-year-old Czech central defender, Stepán Chaloupek. Ipswich Town and Hull City from England, Italian clubs Roma and Inter, Hamburg from Germany, and Benfica are reportedly monitoring the youth international. Benfica is preparing an offer of approximately €12 million. This amount is likely to be below Slavia Prague's asking price, as the club seeks a higher transfer fee. Slavia's coach, Jindrich Trpisovsky, has publicly commented that while he believes another season with the team would be beneficial for the player, it would be impossible to reject an offer from a club like Benfica. Chaloupek joined Slavia in July 2024 and his contract runs until 2030. His current market value is estimated by Transfermarkt to be €10.00m.
