Ștefan Târnovanu Transfer from FCSB to Panathinaikos
Ștefan Târnovanu, a 26-year-old Romanian goalkeeper, has expressed a desire to leave FCSB this summer. According to the Greek press, Panathinaikos is interested in the goalkeeper. This interest follows a previous move to Gaziantep that did not proceed, reportedly because the Turkish club lacked the required funds. Panathinaikos is reportedly seeking a new goalkeeper quickly for its European campaign, as last season's starter, Alban Lafont, has left after his loan from Nantes concluded. The new coach for the Greek club, Jacob Neestrup, has informed the management of his desire for a new goalkeeper and has identified Târnovanu as his target. Mihai Stoica of FCSB stated to Prima Sport a few days ago that Târnovanu could leave if an offer from another country is received. He also stated that any players who depart must be replaced by valuable players. Gigi Becali commented that the player is under contract and will only be permitted to leave at the appropriate time. Becali suggested that an offer of 3 million could be sufficient, but also stated that he still wants five million for the transfer. Târnovanu has four caps for Romania and is contracted until June 2028. He made 20 appearances in the SuperLiga in the 25/26 season. His market value, according to Transfermarkt, is €3.80m. The club has previously maintained its valuation of the player, having reportedly rejected a €4 million offer in April 2025 and a €2.5 million offer in December 2025.
