Mainz 05 wants to keep loan player Stefan Posch. According to 'Sky', Mainz has initiated talks with his parent club, Como 1907, and is exploring options for the Austrian's further employment. Krone.at reports on the discussions between Philipp Mwene and Stefan Posch regarding Posch's transfer situation. According to the report, Philipp Mwene said that Stefan Posch called him in January to ask about his well-being and what it was like in Mainz. The report states that Stefan Posch hardly played at Como in 2025 and needed more playing time before the World Cup. Mwene also said that once it became clear that a transfer was developing, he contacted Stefan Posch almost daily.

Mainz 05 plans to permanently sign 28-year-old Austrian international Stefan Posch, who is currently on loan from Como 1907, beyond the current season. Before his move to Germany, Posch made 14 appearances and scored one goal for Como in Serie A this season. The defender has 51 caps and 5 goals for Austria.
