According to Claret & Hugh, a transfer source close to West Ham believes that midfielders Alvarez and Magassa will both be staying at the London Stadium for the time being, despite an opportunity to leave remaining. The source states that neither player will go to other leagues such as Switzerland, Poland or Greece, and that Saudi Arabia has significantly reduced its spending. Claret & Hugh have also stated that Magassa has apologised to Nuno and his teammates for his stance of wanting to leave. Magassa was reportedly set on moving away.

Soungoutou Magassa removed all mention of West Ham from his Instagram and blacked out his profile picture. According to Alan Nixon via his Patreon on 16 August, Magassa could leave in this window. West Ham are open to offers for Magassa and could allow the 22-year-old to leave if the right offers arrive, on the condition that suitable replacements can be found with late deals this transfer window.
