Empoli has identified 27-year-old Italian forward Simone Mazzocchi as one of its main targets to strengthen the attacking department, following his positive season with Cosenza where he scored eight goals and provided five assists. According to La Nazione, the Tuscan club has already initiated initial contacts to evaluate the feasibility of the transfer. However, the negotiation is described as not simple, as several other Serie B clubs have also shown interest in the forward, which is expected to increase the competition. Mazzocchi, who has been capped three times for the Italy U20 team, joined Cosenza in July 2025 and is under contract until June 2027. His current market value is estimated by Transfermarkt to be €375k.
