An agreement has been reached for Santiago Lencina, a 20-year-old Argentine attacking midfielder, to join Burgos from River. The player will move on a one-year loan which includes a purchase option. Lawyers are currently preparing the documents for the transfer, and Lencina is expected to travel to Spain in the coming days. Lencina joined River Plate in July 2025 and his contract is valid until the end of 2028. In the 2025/2026 season, he made five appearances in the domestic league. It is reported that his contract includes a release clause of €100 million.
