Santiago Hidalgo Massa leaving Independiente?
A formal offer of around four million dollars was made by a club from Qatar for Santiago Hidalgo. However, Independiente rejected the offer as it did not meet their expectations. The club's Secretary General, Daniel Seoane, mentioned that while the offer was economically beneficial for the player, the payment method was not suitable for the club, and the player preferred to stay. Hidalgo has a contract until December 2026, with a release clause of 20 million dollars.
Santiago Hidalgo has extended his contract with Independiente, which was initially due to expire in December 2025, to now last until the end of 2026. The renewed contract includes improved terms, reflecting his significant role in the first team. His release clause is approximately 20 million euros. The discussions regarding the renewal had been in progress since mid-October and were concluded during the holiday season. Hidalgo is regarded as one of Independiente's top prospects and is expected to remain with the team unless an extraordinary offer is made for him to transfer internationally.
Independiente is open to selling Santiago Hidalgo if a good offer comes. Seoane commented, 'If a good offer for Santiago Hidalgo comes, why wouldn't we sell him? Independiente needs to sell like all clubs.'
