The priority for the 23-year-old defensive midfielder, Santiago Homenchenko, is a move to Europe. Neither Homenchenko nor Querétaro consider the possibility of the footballer continuing his career at another Mexican club. Querétaro would ask for a high amount for the Uruguayan. Homenchenko has a market value of five million euros, according to Transfermarkt, and this figure could represent an obstacle for any club interested in his services. Homenchenko, who has not yet been capped by Uruguay, joined Querétaro in July 2026 and is under contract until June 2029.
