Samu Aghehowa Transfer from Porto to Arsenal

Arsenal has expressed interest in Samu Omorodion Aghehowa, whose release clause is estimated at 80 million euros. Team Talk reports that clubs like Arsenal have been informed of the player's desire to stay at FC Porto beyond January 2026. The player does not plan to change clubs this winter to increase his chances of playing in the World Cup with Spain in a few months.

It is reported that Arsenal are a club to watch in the pursuit of Porto striker Samu Aghehowa. The 21-year-old Spain international has been linked with a move to Chelsea and Tottenham, and Mikel Arteta’s side are monitoring him. It is said that Porto are inflexible on his €100 million release fee being met, but it is possible that Arsenal could be able to reduce this to €90m. Arsenal are concerned that Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus are injury-prone, which is leading Arteta to look for a reliable backup option to Viktor Gyokeres.

Arsenal are a team to watch in the effort to sign Porto striker Samu Aghehowa. He has scored nine goals in 15 appearances for his side this season. The Daily Briefing reports that Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham are all serious contenders to sign the player.

Sources indicate that Tottenham and Arsenal could now be the two main teams to watch in connection with Aghehowa. One source described Porto as firm regarding Aghehowa’s €100m release clause, while another source suggested that the club might be flexible and accept a fee of approximately €90m.

Several Premier League clubs, including Arsenal, are monitoring Samu Omorodion Aghehowa. FC Porto does not want to let the striker leave in January and intends for him to remain with the club until the end of the season. The club has set the player's price at 80 million euros and will not accept any lower offers. Samu Omorodion Aghehowa is under contract with FC Porto until June 30, 2029, and his annual salary is 1,630,000 euros (1,059,500,000 FCFA).

Pete O’Rourke told Football Insider that Arsenal are also interested in Samu Aghehowa.

Team Talk reports that Tottenham, along with Arsenal, Newcastle and Nottingham Forest, are assessing FC Porto’s Samu Agehowa. Spurs are said to be the most interested.

Aghehowa has been previously linked with a move to Arsenal, but the transfer did not work out.

Arsenal are reportedly considering Samu Aghehowa as a potential alternative signing to Alexander Isak this summer. Aghehowa, who joined Porto in the summer, has made a strong impression with 13 goals in 19 league appearances and six in nine Europa League matches, including a remarkable goal against Roma. Arsenal is facing competition from other Premier League clubs, such as Chelsea, Aston Villa, and Newcastle, for his signature. It seems that Chelsea regrets missing out on Aghehowa last summer, while Newcastle may pursue him if they decide to sell Isak, whose asking price is over €150 million. Arsenal's interest is driven by their determination to sign a striker following an injury crisis in their forward line.
