Rüfat Abdullazada, who has been a youth international representing Azerbaijan, has made a transfer to Varaždin from Sabail. In the last two years, he has been a player for Sabail, and before that, he was with Samgayit. Abdullazada is primarily positioned as a right winger but is also capable of playing in central midfield roles. In the previous season, he participated in 34 domestic league matches, scoring six goals and providing seven assists. This transfer to Varaždin is significant as it is his first move to a club outside of Azerbaijan. The official announcement regarding the transfer is expected soon, as he has already participated in an official photoshoot sporting the new club's jersey. Although he will not be eligible to play in the upcoming match against Santa Clara, if Varaždin progresses, there is a possibility for him to be registered for European competitions.
