According to reports, Manu Fajardo, the sporting director of Real Betis, held discussions with Roberto Fernández's agents in Sevilla regarding the terms of a potential transfer. Sporting de Braga has set his valuation at approximately 10 million euros. Fernández, who was transferred to Sporting de Braga from Málaga for 1.8 million euros last summer, has played a crucial role in Espanyol's season, netting six goals in 19 matches to aid their stay in the Primera División.
