Gençlerbirliği has secured the services of Portuguese goalkeeper Ricardo Velho, 27, from Farense on a loan basis for the remainder of the campaign. The agreement for the player, valued at €4.00m by Transfermarkt, includes an option for the newly promoted Turkish first division side to make the transfer permanent. The move concludes a six-season spell for Velho at Farense, where his contract was set to run until 2028 and where he had become a key player and one of the captains. This marks his first professional experience outside of Portugal and came after he was omitted from the squad against Marítimo as the Portuguese transfer window was nearing its close.
