It has been reported that Reo Hatate has been told the only way for him to return to the Japan team is to leave Celtic. Celtic signed the player from Kawasaki Frontale in 2021 for €1.5m and can expect to make a healthy profit on him if he leaves.

Reo Hatate had been linked with a winter exit, with Palmeiras linked. The 28-year-old is set to remain until the end of the season at least.

Palmeiras rejected an offer for Reo Hatate after he was proposed to the club through intermediaries last week. Sources told Football Insider that Celtic have no intention of letting Hatate leave, and the player will not be allowed to leave unless an irrefutable offer is received. The Brazilian transfer window does not close until 3 March.

Intermediaries have offered Celtic's Japanese midfielder Reo Hatate to Palmeiras.
