Renan Lodi Transfer to Rijeka
According to the portal Sportsport.ba, Croatian champions Rijeka are considering a move for 27-year-old Brazilian left-back Renan Lodi. The former Atletico Madrid player, where he won a La Liga title, also had a loan spell at Nottingham Forest before moving to Olympique Marseille for 13 million euros and then to Al Hilal in January 2024 for 23 million euros. Lodi became a free agent in September 2025 after he unilaterally terminated his contract with the Saudi club, citing his right to work after losing his place in the team due to rules limiting foreign players; Al Hilal has stated they intend to take legal action. Although Rijeka could sign Lodi without a transfer fee, his extremely high earnings in Saudi Arabia present a significant financial obstacle. Currently training in Brazil, Lodi is reportedly hungry to prove himself, having recently criticized Brazil's coach Carlo Ancelotti, and his desire for a return to European football could be a decisive factor. The 19-cap Brazil international is also attracting interest from the Iranian club Tractor.
