According to Globo.com, Renan Lodi has signed a five-season contract with Atlético-MG and has been officially announced by the club after passing medical examinations. The full-back said that he had offers from other clubs.

Renan Lodi landed in Belo Horizonte on Friday morning to undergo medical examinations. He has an agreement with Atlético-MG to join the team in 2026 and will return to Curitiba later on Friday. Lodi has been without a club since he unilaterally terminated his contract with Al-Hilal in September. He had joined the Saudi team in January 2024 on a three-and-a-half-year contract but terminated his contract after not being in coach Simone Inzaghi's plans.

Manager Jorge Sampaoli requested the signing of Renan Lodi, and Atlético-MG is in advanced negotiations for the player. Lodi has been a free agent since September after terminating his contract with Al Hilal for just cause because the Saudi club did not register him for the league. The player was recently a target for clubs in Europe and has a five-year agreement with Atlético-MG that is ready to be signed.
