Transfer watcher Nicolo Schira reported that Redouane Halhal is getting closer to joining Verona from Mechelen and that a four-year contract has been offered to the defender.

Serie A club Hellas Verona is reportedly in advanced negotiations with KV Mechelen to sign Moroccan and French defender Redouane Halhal during the current winter transfer window. The Italian club has made an official offer of approximately €3.5 million for the 22-year-old. After a season in Belgium where his defensive strength drew attention from several European clubs, Halhal has become one of the most monitored players in his position. Hellas Verona is aiming to complete a permanent transfer soon, viewing Halhal as a future investment to help the team remain in Serie A. Verona is not the only interested Italian club; Africafoot previously revealed that Pisa is also monitoring the player. Africafoot also reported that the defender received financially attractive offers from Gulf clubs last summer, but he chose to prioritize his sporting development in Europe. Halhal joined KV Mechelen in August 2024, has a contract until June 2026, and has made 16 appearances in the Jupiler Pro League this season. According to Transfermarkt, the Morocco U23 international has a current market value of €2.00m.
