Rayan Transfer from Vasco da Gama to Palmeiras
ESPN BR reported that Palmeiras showed interest in pursuing Rayan because of a lower domestic market release clause. However, the discussions between Vasco's president Pedrinho and Palmeiras' president Leila Pereira did not lead to any progress. Despite the lower release clause for domestic clubs, Rayan and his representatives were not considering a transfer to another Brazilian team, even if the release clause was met, as their priority was a move to Europe. Rayan was seen as Vasco's main asset, and the club was in a delicate financial situation, seeking 25 million euros for his transfer. The club's director, Admar Lopes, expected Rayan to stay until the end of the year unless a club paid his international release clause of 80 million euros. The situation was further complicated by Rayan's contract, which ran until December 2026, allowing him to sign a pre-contract with another club from July 2026, potentially decreasing his market value.
