Randall Rodríguez Transfer from Vélez Sarsfield to Boston River
Randall Rodríguez is set to go on loan to Boston River in Uruguay until the end of December 2025. Vélez president, Fabián Berlanga, explained that the loan decision stems from a diagnosed illness of the player, which necessitates his proximity to family. Berlanga clarified that the illness is unrelated to addictions and highlighted the club's determination to support Rodríguez personally and aid in his recovery. Rodríguez joined Vélez from Peñarol in 2024 after securing victory with Uruguay in the U-20 World Cup in 2023. His contract with Vélez extends until December 2026. Berlanga noted that the player's health status will be revealed at a suitable time and reiterated the club's dedication to assisting Rodríguez as a human being, focusing on his recuperation. The goalkeeper, acquired for $300,000 for 75% of his rights, has played only two matches for Vélez, including a notable 5-0 victory against Barracas and a 4-1 loss to River at the Monumental, where he committed two significant errors.
