Rafael Lubach: Nürnberg Contract Extension

Some Bundesliga clubs are reportedly aware of 20-year-old German central midfielder Rafael Lubach. However, Sports Director Joti Chatzialexiou stated to BILD last week that 1. FC Nürnberg does not plan to sell key players like Lubach in the winter, adding that they would do their best not to let the players go. Lubach's contract is valid until 2027. Although it does not contain a release clause, FCN must sell him in the summer if the club wants to receive a substantial transfer fee for the offensive all-rounder. Otherwise, a free transfer could be possible a year later, unless the club extends his contract, which would likely involve a significant salary increase. According to BILD information, he initially earned around 15,000 euros a month at FCN. His monthly earnings are now about 20,000 euros due to his status as a regular player and his many appearances. Nevertheless, as a key player, Lubach is still among the relatively lower-paid players in the FCN squad. The Germany U20 international, who has 8 caps and 1 goal, joined the club in July 2024. He has scored 5 goals in 16 appearances in the 2. Bundesliga this season and has a current Transfermarkt market value of €3.50m.
