Rafa has been linked to Al Shabab from Saudi Arabia after it was confirmed that he would leave Benfica at the end of the season.

The Saudi Government fund did not make possible the signing of the (still) player from Benfica

Rafa, who is leaving Benfica, has been associated with several Saudi clubs, especially Al Shabab, which was coached last season by Vítor Pereira. Paulo Nunes, who has previously coached Rafa, states that it would be fantastic for the Saudi League to have another world-class player.
