Quinten Timber leaving Feyenoord?

Telegraaf.nl reports that Quinten Timber's future at Feyenoord remains uncertain, and that there is a discussion about whether he should speak publicly about his next career step.

Mike Verweij advises that Feyenoord should sell Quinten Timber in the winter if the club wants to make money. Valentijn Driessen disagrees and believes Timber should stay until the end of the season. Driessen suggests that Feyenoord could let Timber extend his contract, possibly giving him a signing bonus and setting a fixed transfer fee, and then wait to see if clubs become interested, noting that Timber is often injured.

According to Voetbal International, Quinten Timber and Feyenoord will meet this week because they have not been able to reach an agreement on a contract extension. A meeting is scheduled between Feyenoord's management and Timber's entourage to discuss the next steps. Feyenoord is open to considering a departure in the winter, and there is also the possibility that Timber leaves on a free transfer when his contract expires. The player is open to extending his contract to allow the club to ask for a transfer fee, but he wants logical compensation for this. Voetbal International reports that Feyenoord has a very different view of the situation, as the management doubts whether it is worth making Timber the best-paid player among those with short contracts because of his injury history. Timber is currently not among the top earners at Feyenoord and his salary is not commensurate with his status as an international, which is a reason for his request for a higher salary for an additional contract year. Feyenoord wants to determine if an extension is no longer a possibility.

Timber is entering the last year of his contract with Feyenoord and has not yet agreed to an extension. Despite not being the captain or vice-captain, he remains a key player and is not expected to leave easily.

Top clubs from Italy are reportedly interested in signing Quinten Timber according to CaughtOffside. They are monitoring his recovery from a knee injury closely. These clubs are not deterred by Feyenoord's asking price of 25 to 30 million euros.

Ronald Koeman, the national coach of the Netherlands, believes Quinten Timber is ready for the next step in his career. Koeman mentions that Timber has proven himself even with the Dutch national team, indicating he is ready for a move abroad. However, Timber is currently facing injury issues which might delay any potential transfer.

Feyenoord is presently involved in positive discussions with the representatives of Quinten Timber. The uncertainty surrounding Timber's future at Feyenoord stems from a knee injury that has sidelined him since February. The club faces a crucial decision: either to extend his contract or to proceed with selling him. If Timber does not agree to a contract extension, selling him becomes unavoidable, as allowing him to leave for free in 2026 is not a feasible option. Nonetheless, any potential sale is contingent upon his recovery and fitness levels. Several top European clubs are reportedly keeping an eye on Timber. Feyenoord's technical director, Dennis te Kloese, has indicated that a transfer is bound to occur, given Timber's exceptional talent.

Quinten Timber is expected to extend his contract with Feyenoord by one year, according to journalist Wessel Penning from Algemeen Dagblad. Timber, who is currently injured, will have two years left on his contract after the extension, allowing for potential transfers in September or the winter transfer window.

There is an expectation at Feyenoord that Quinten Timber will make a move in the upcoming summer.
