Serie A club Lazio have made an enquiry for Basel's Nigerian winger Philip Otele, who is expected to leave the Swiss club during the January transfer window. Basel are reportedly prepared to consider offers of £6m and above for the 26-year-old after lowering their valuation from the summer. There is significant interest in Otele, with Celtic also having made an enquiry. According to Ben Jacobs on X, Premier League club Wolverhampton Wanderers are targeting the player, and Bournemouth have also contacted Basel to find out the terms of a deal, while Championship side Birmingham are also interested. The winger joined Basel in July 2025 for a reported €3 million and his contract runs until June 2028. In 19 Super League appearances this season, he has scored four goals and provided three assists, with his Transfermarkt market value currently at €5.00m.
