The Bundesliga club from Baden-Württemberg (VfB Stuttgart) and FC Bologna are interested in 26-year-old Dutch defensive midfielder Peer Koopmeiners from AZ Alkmaar. According to transfer journalist Mounir Boualin in a YouTube video for the Dutch football portal, Koopmeiners is on the list of several clubs. Boualin also stated that, to his knowledge, FC Bologna and VfB Stuttgart are observing the player particularly closely and will probably make him a concrete offer. Koopmeiners has a contract with AZ until 2028. There is currently no information about a release clause. AZ is under no significant pressure to sell. Celtic has also been linked with the player, whose market value is estimated by Transfermarkt at €10.00m. In March 2026, a hypothetical transfer to Celtic was reportedly valued at approximately £10m, while in the January 2025 transfer window, reports stated that AZ Alkmaar rejected a €10 million bid from FC Porto.
