After a failed attempt to sign Matteo Brunori, Spezia is now interested in 26-year-old Portuguese forward Pedro Mendes, who is expected to leave Modena in January because of the anticipated arrival of Manuel De Luca from Cremonese. Spezia has begun negotiations with Modena for the forward, and Bari has also recently made an inquiry about him. The clubs are discussing a loan with an obligation to buy if Spezia avoids relegation, though a permanent transfer in January is also a possibility.
