Patricio Salas, a 22-year-old Mexican forward, will temporarily leave América to play in Europe for Famalicão of Portugal's First Division. The forward is moving to the Portuguese club on a one-year loan which includes a purchase option, as he is seeking playing time that he did not have at the start of the Apertura 2026. Under new coach Guillermo Almada, his role at América had diminished, with Almada having given him only 33 minutes across two matches in the current tournament. The signing of Miguel Borja also limited his opportunities in the team's attack. Salas joined América in January 2026. According to Transfermarkt, he has a current market value of €4.00m.
