Ognjen Ugrešić, a 20-year-old Serbian-Hungarian central midfielder, had attracted interest from several clubs. Panathinaikos had examined his situation, and the player had also been proposed to Olympiacos. PAOK secured the Serbia U21 international from Partizan, where he had been under contract until June 2030 since joining in January 2025. The agreement for the deal includes a base fee reported to be between €6 million and €6.5 million, a total value of €8 million including bonuses, and a sell-on clause. Prior to the move, Partizan had reportedly rejected an €8 million package from Sassuolo. The club's asking price was cited as approximately €10 million in June 2026. Ugrešić's current market value is €10.00m, according to Transfermarkt.
