Feyenoord has approached Atlético Madrid regarding a potential loan deal for Obed Vargas, a 21-year-old midfielder with Mexican and Spanish nationality. The Rotterdam club faces competition, as Real Betis, Valencia, Getafe, and Sevilla are also reportedly interested in Vargas. He has nine caps for Mexico and joined Atlético Madrid from Seattle Sounders last winter, signing a contract until the summer of 2030. The fee for that transfer was reportedly between €3.0 million and €6.0 million. According to Transfermarkt, his current market value is €10.00m. Due to limited prospects for playing time at the Spanish club, a loan period is viewed as an ideal outcome by the involved parties.
