Rayo Vallecano has decided to exercise its purchase option to make the loan of Nobel Mendy from Real Betis permanent. Mendy is a 21-year-old Senegalese and Guinea-Bissauan defender. The deal is for €2.4 million plus variables for 80% of the player's rights. Several clubs, including Nottingham Forest, Benfica, and Atalanta, are monitoring Mendy. It is reported that these clubs are willing to pay a much higher sum for him. If Rayo Vallecano subsequently transfers the player, Real Betis would receive 20% of the fee from a sale that could potentially exceed €12 million. Mendy has one cap for Senegal, his contract with Real Betis runs until June 30, 2027, and his Transfermarkt market value is €6.00m.
