Sandefjord’s sporting director Matteus Bardsen said Nikolaj Moller fits the profile the club was looking for. Bardsen described Moller as big, strong, skilled at counterattacking, and a player who wins a very high number of headers. Bardsen also said that Moller frequently scores in the box when given the opportunity. The club believes that he fits very well into their system and will contribute to many goals for them this year. Bardsen also stated that the player's potential is indisputable and the club will work hard for him to reach his full potential at Sandefjord.

Dundee United have sold striker Nikolaj Moller to Norwegian club Sandefjord less than six months after his arrival for free from the Swiss club St Gallen. United announced his departure was for an undisclosed fee. The transfer occurred after he made 20 appearances for the Scottish Premiership club, which included seven starts, and scored one goal.

Dundee United have agreed to sell 23-year-old Swedish forward Nikolaj Moller to Sandefjord for a fee of approximately £700,000 plus add-ons. Moller was not a first-team regular at United, having arrived with a minor injury which impacted his fitness. Sandefjord funded the transfer after selling their striker Stefan Ingi Sigurdarson, and Moller's previous loan spell at Stromsgodset was a factor for the Eliteserien side.
